Dorney Lake

Dorney Lake trust is a registered charity set up by Eton College. They are responsible for the operation of this world class rowing facility, which is set on a 400 acre site near Windsor. The lake is 2200m long and eight lanes wide, each lane being 13.5m. Having already hosted the Bearing Point Rowing World Cup 2005 and the World Rowing Championships in 2006, it is a designated venue for the Olympic Games in 2012.


NBC have been heavily involved in the communications infrastructure and have successfully installed the following:


 




A copper cabling infrastructure to support the course timing system

A multimode fibre optic infrastructure to provide CCTV down the entire length of the course

Category 5E infrastructure in the Finish Tower to support voice and data requirements

Voice cabling infrastructure to present telephony in the Finish Tower and all Timing Huts down the length of the course

Temporary communications infrastructure for Bearing Point Rowing World Cup 2005 and World Championship 2006
